Trobàss is a duo whose purpose is to achieve a special sound, which is the one obtained of combining two acoustic instruments which take advantage of the space they are playing in, either a street or a concert hall.

Josep Lluís Pons is the trumpet player, and Jaume Coll plays the double bass. They enrich each other, at the same that they allow the hearer to participate in their trip between the standards of jazz, giving them a personal, reflective touch in order to extract from their instruments a story which is always exciting. In one of its concerts, the duo was presented this way: "The boundaries of the tessituras meet in this duet in order to interact and exchange the roles, in a project where the sound is the main engine. Its sound is the vehicle for an exciting trip through the musical puzzle, which is wisely itemized by Josep Lluís Pons and Jaume Coll."
