Perikas Jazz Reunion
- (Mallorca, 1995)
Perikas Jazz Reunion was born approximately in 1995. It was named for the owner of Sa Posada de Bellver in Palma. ''Perikas JAZZ REUNION'' was made up of five musicians. The musicians varied. The objectives of the orchestra are to make improvisational music known, and to contribute with the musical roots of the Balearic Islands to a new harmonic sonority. The other objective is to consolidate the jazz orchestra, in other words, continuity. The themes of the Miquel A. Pericàs orchestra are composed with harmonic remaniscències of Spanish music rooted in the Balearic Islands. The rhythms are Latin and swing mixed. The instruments used are normally acoustic such as piano, drums, double bass and wind instruments. It has to be said that he uses the vibraphone and the Hammond organ, which are part of the history of jazz. Manipulated acoustic instruments such as the "prepared piano" are also used.
