Acadèmia 1830

Acadèmia 1830 is a musical association that has the objective of spreading the great repertoire of the classical music from the Balearic Islands. Acadèmia 1830 has two main ensembles: the orchestra and the choir, which allows them to approach the vocal and instrumental genres both separately and as a joint effort, depending on the production and the program.

Acadèmia 1830 orchestra is a flexible and variable instrumental formation of top level young professional musicians of the island of Mallorca. Their versatility allow them to approach any piece, from Beethoven's great symphonic repertoire, to the baroque and classical tradition, the great romantic repertoire, up to the music of the 20th century.

The orchestra has performed in the main auditoriums and concert halls and festivals of the Islands (Teatre Principal de Palma, Teatre de Santanyi, Auditorium of Manacor, Castell de Bellver, JJMM Festival of Capdepera, and JJMM of Ciutadella, etc). It is worth mentioning the productions of Tangos by Astor Piazzola and Amor Brujo by Manuel de Falla, or Passion according to St. John by J.S. Bach, the Lyrical Gala in the gardens of the Drach Caves or Great Mass in C minor by Mozart, with Markus-Chor Munich, the latter in November 2014 at the Music Mallorca festival.
