Andreu Galmés

Andreu Galmés has been guitarist for various Majorcan singer-songwriters, such as Guillem d'Efak or Tomeu Matamales. He got his start on the Jazz Stage at the VII Festival de Jazz de Palma de Mallorca. In 1992 he started Calitja Jazz and recorded the CD Moments.

With the Andreu Galmés Trio he has performed in Mallorca, Minorca, Ibiza (National Jazz Showcase), Barcelona (Plaça Reial) and Germany (1993- Folwanghochschule, Essen, Werden). Since 1995 he has occasionally worked as a sideman Max Sunyer, Kitflus, Benavent (Mostra de Jazz de Cala Ratjada, 1997), J. Bonell, Michell McCaine, Richard Vinton, Victor Uris, Molly Duncan, etc.

In 1996 he founded Cafè 3 Trio with Salvador Font and Fernando Calvo, with whom he recorded the record Cafè 3 Trio. Currently, the band includes Andreu Galmés on guitar, Pablo di Salvo on bass and Miguel Navarrete on drums. In May 2000, he records the CD Stress. With this line up he presents the record at the Festival Internacional de Jazz in Sa Pobla (Mallorca), in Menorca (Akelarre, Sa Clau, etc.), in Palma (Centre Cultural de Sa Nostra, Festes de Sant Sebastià) and in Manacor.

In 2003, he records his segond CD with Cafè 3 Trio with Miguel Navarrete on drums and Tanny Mas on electric bass, with the vocal collaboration by Gina Calpin and Manolo Cuesta on sax. On that same year he consolidates the Manolo Cuesta & Andreu Galmés duo, with which he performs jazz songs on guitar and sax, clarinet and flute.
