Antoni Costa Fiol is a photographer. He grew up in a family environment surrounded by reels and developing and fixing liquids, witness to the artisanal techniques of editing and photographic retouching, but his work focuses squarely on the digital image frame and photographic social networks.
He has devoted himself professionally to the world of the image for the last twenty years, first from the point of view of advertising and soon eleven years from an institutional perspective, in the Communication Service of the University of the Balearic Islands. He has taken the Diploma de Especialización Profesional Universitario de Fotografía Digital y Tratamiento de la Imagen (University of Valencia) and is a member of the Observatorio Fotográfico del Paisaje de la Universitat de les Illes Balears (Landscape Photographic Observatory of the University of the Balearic Islands).
His work has received several awards. He was a finalist in the National Scientific Photography Competition FOTCIENCIA14 (2017) and, as such, his work has been exhibited in Paris, Brussels, Salamanca, Madrid (3), A Coruña, Ávila, Valladolid, Cádiz, Zamora, Barcelona, Alcoy, San Sebastián, Valencia and Palma.
It has also been awarded the first prize in the II Digital Photography Competition for Equality between Women and Men 2016. Enfocando la (Des) Igualdad, and with the second prize of the III Memorial Miquel Seguí Aznar urban architecture photography competition (2011).
His work has been exhibited at the Casal Solleric in Palma (2019); at the Artmallorca Gallery, with the exhibition "Spring Equinox" (Palma, 2018); at the Universitat de les Illes Balears, with the exhibition "pas_a_pas: un retrat de les percepcions de la quotidianitat" (Sa Riera, Palma, 2017); Expolaroid - Festival Internacional de la Película Fotográfica Instantánea (Palma, 2017), and has been part of the collaborative project IgersMap, the first map of the world created by instagramers.
