Winner of the 2016 Apila Prize and the 2016 Boolino prize, both for Best new author for Children’s Books; graphic storyteller Canizales has been creating works for children for over 20 years. He studied Fine Arts in Colombia and Animation in Spain and has published in both countries. His background includes comics, art direction and character design. He is a professor at the School of Art and Design in Palma de Mallorca, devoting much of his time to conceiving, authoring and illustrating unconventional and imaginative children’s books, some of which can be seen at www.canizales.eu.
