In its last plenary session of 2016, Pollença's council decided to declare 2017 the Year Bennàssar Dionis Mulet, coinciding with the fiftieth anniversary of his death. Dionís Bennàssar was not a musician, but music breathe in his home (since his wife, Catalina Vicens was the daughter of musician and pianist) and he was fond of music, expressing his preference for the music of Frédéric Chopin.
