Insecta Dance Music is an art-science project highlighting the importance of the entomologic fauna, not only from an environmental perspective, but also as part of our sound heritage and a valuable asset in contemporary music.

The album has been composed with insect sounds, recorded in natural and semiurban areas of Mallorca. The sounds have been digitalized and manipulated to become rhythms, vocalizations and textures, which the duo has uploaded into their instruments (drum machines, pads, synths) and played to create tracks ranging from Balearic and experimental electronic music to techno. Finally, they've inlcuded a Mediterranean jazz flute and vocals describing the relationship humankind/nature, and using techniques that emulate the language of insects.

Jansky will perform the album live accompanied by a visual set design, and dressed up in Aloma Lafontana's sustainable wearable scultpures. The complete project includes a digital sound library, Insectasynth: a sound installation, interactive educational activities and the publication of the album IDM, planned to be released inr September 21st, 2021. The first stage of this project has received two nominations and a prize at the 2020 Sound Of The Year Awards, awarded by the BBC and the Museum of Sound.
