Produccions del Mar was established in December 2005 by the Foundation Teatre del Mar. Since January 2006 Produccions del Mar is in charge of the management of the Teatre del Mar, of production and distribution of shows and of the educational projects Escena educativa and Excena i Literatura.

In 2007 they premiered their first show for adult audiences Seqüències, 4 ficcions d'avui that was also programmed in the spring season of  2008. In 2009 premiered their second show targeted at adults, Comrade K, which after the success in Mallorca made ??an extensive tour throughout Spain.

In 2010 Produccions del Mar launched the Investigation Space in Teatre del Mar with two open laboratories The actor out of balance (L’actor en desequilibri) about interpretation and The invisible heritage (El llegat invisible) about the origins of the tragedy.

These laboratories have resulted in two productions: The dinner (El Sopar) and The visit (La Visita), the former having already played 40 times in all of the Spanish territory and still touring and the latter being meant to take place in individual homes is also still played regularly.
