Psaiko Quartet

From Argentina, Valencia and Galicia; they begin their chamber music work in the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears in 2015, under the tutelage of Rodrigo Vila, Beatriz Tirado, David Brutti and Joaquín Sáez.

They receive classes from prestigious professors such as Jean-Marie Londeix, Marie-Bernadette Charrier, Ryo Noda, Hans de Jong, Nicolas Prost, Gordan Tudor and Donald Sinta Quartet. Likewise, they work with prestigious composers such as Antonio Lauzurika, Ramón Lazkano, Simone Movio, Guillermo Schiavi and with dedicated works by Diego Graciosi and Aarón Siebert. Their chamber work is developed in various places, which include: Beijing, Changde, Rio de Janeiro, Bangkok, Oporto, Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, La Plata, Santa Rosa and General Pico (La Pampa), Madrid, Barcelona , Girona, Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Inca, Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, Rianxo, Riveira, Valencia and Avila.

 

In 2016 they get the 2nd Prize in the Chamber Music Contest "Juventudes Musicales de Ávila ". In 2017 they obtain the First Prize in the 88th Permanent Competition "Juventudes Musicales de España" and the First Prize in the Chamber Groups Contest ArtJove. In 2018 they are awarded the First Prize in Class D of the "Thailand International Wind Symphony Competition "(TIWSC).

They participate in different festivals such as Daya - Yamaha International Saxophone Artists Concerts, Série Tendências of the UFRJ, Ciclo de cuerdas y vientos (La Pampa), Aveiro Sax Fest, EurSax 2017, VIII, IX and X Mallorca Saxophone Festival, XIII Encontro Galego do Saxofón , Aula Galega do Saxofón, II Cycle of Novos Performers of Rianxo, Inclàssic 2018, Fira B! 2018 and II Festival Ensemble de Ontinyent, among others.

Within the different festivals in which they participate, they give masterclasses and hold didactic concerts at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, at the International Meetings of La Pampa (Argentina), and at the Luis Gianneo Conservatory in Mar del Plata. They have also been members of the jury in the semifinal of the "2018 Hunan Wind Instrument Competition" in Hunan Province, China.

Within its repertoire, we find from conservative music to the most innovative and daring. With works by composers such as F. Schubert, C. Debussy, JB Singelée, L. Kréutzer, E. Bozza, A. Desenclos, G. Pierné, J. Françaix, M. de Falla, GF Haas, C. Halffter, R. Lazkano, G. Erkoreka, A. Glazunov, S. Movio, H. Parra, R. Hoffmann, G. Ligeti, Marc Mellits and A. Piazzolla, among others. They show a broad dynamism that completes a repertoire full of energy and feeling.

Psaiko Quartet uses Bamboo accessories. The quartet is composed of:
