Tomeu Moll-Mas

Pianist born in Mallorca in 1975. He studied music theory and advanced piano at the Conservatory of Music in Barcelona. Later on, he decided to specialize in contemporary repertoire with pianist Jean-Pierre Dupuy. Among his teachers also stand Josep M. Columbus and lectures with Miquel Farré, Roger Muraro and Florent Boffard.

With its commitment to contemporary art and the research for new interpretive contexts of classical music of all time, he has played regularly in the main festivals of the genre in Spain and abroad: Opus (Bordeus), Música Nova (Brasil), Klang (Hèlsinki, Finàndia), Musik der Jahrhundert (Stuttgart, Alemanya), El piano a escena (Santiago de Xile), etc., and venues such as the Reina Sofia Museum and the National Auditorium in Madrid, Institute Cervantes Paris and University of Paris 8, etc.

Along with his teacher Albert Diaz he forms Alter Face, ensemble of pianists dedicated to the renewal of repertoire and concepts around the interpretation of musical works for keyboards. He is also part of the Ensemble Espai Sonor since 2008, with whom he has recorded several CDs. He has also appeared in RNE and RTVE, as well as the Finnish National Radio and several TV channels in Brazil. He has participated in the creation of two works for dance-music: Astres mínims, a dance version of Miniature Estrose I, by composer Marco Stroppa, and Hitzak, metáforas Cachées, by Iker Güemes.


He recently performed at the Teatre Principal de Palma Vingt regards sur l'Enfant-Jésus, by Oliver Messiaen, and the Piano Concerto for piano and wind instruments by Stravinsky, accompanied by the Palma Municipal Band. During the 2016 Alter Face has performed for the first time at the prestigious Festival de Pollença. The ensemble also presented in November their project String Piano, for manipulated piano by two performers, at the festivals Meeting of Composers (Mallorca), Bernaola Festival (Vitoria) and Semana de Música Contemporánea (Bilbao).


In 2014 he recorded his first solo album, again with the collaboration of Albert Diaz, in a work entitled De Natura Elèctrica (Of an electric nature). In 2005 obtains place of professor of Piano in Valencia and has since worked in several conservatories of Valencia and Mallorca.
