Toni Vaquer

Born in Mallorca, he is a promise of contemporary jazz piano. He studied at the Liceo Conservatory and later received a scholarship in 2013 from the Berklee College of Music, where he studied a Master's degree in composition and arrangements under the guidance of renowned professors.

As an arranger, he has worked arranging the Tribute in Salvador Font Mantega, the new project with the Glissando Big band. Toni Vaquer prepared the previously unreleased arrangements of the songs by 'Big Eril', a big band put on by El Pequeño de Cal Eril for the San Boy del Llobregat Altavoz festival. Two of the 13 songs by Joan Chamorro presents Mar Sauqué featuring Joel Frahm and “Duke Ellington Sound of Love” at Joan Chamorro present Joan Codina.

As a pianist, he has participated in Els Enregistraments of Kraken Amb Toni Vaquer Sextet (Underpool Rècords), Sakura Amb Natsuko Suga Group (Underpool), or Amb Slow Quartet (Babyne Records), Reality Shaw Amb Voro Garcia Quintet I 20.10.2010 & Blues with Toni Vaquer Trio for the Berklee Jazz Revelation Records Vol.1.

His career has already accumulated several awards: first prize at the I and IV Palma Jazz Contest (2008 and 2011), Honorable Mention by the Liceo Conservatory (2012), Duke Ellington Prize for Jazz Composition by the Berkle (2017) and the Dean's List at the Berklee College of Music (2015-2017).
