When Raghnall and Rowan, two perfect strangers, share a pomergrenate, they can't imagine it hides the spirit of the Great King Wolf. From that moment on they are both half possessed. The Great King controls Raghnall's body during daytime and Rowan's during the nighttime. The legendary king of ancient times, who united the realm of Luburna and kept it in peace for decades, seeing his former kingdom shattered by war and famine, decides to bring it back to it's years of glory.

It seems an impossible task not counting with either armies nor gold, but the idealist farmer Rowan is enthusiastic about the whole idea. Raghnall on the other hand, being a ruthless mercenary, wants nothing to do with heroic deeds. This uncanny trio will soon run into the fearsome Yorvall the atrocious, the most vicious of many warlords aspiring to be the new Great King.
