The last day, the last hour, the last act or even the last gesture of the working life of a meteorological observer is the central theme of all the stories gathered under the title L'últim métar. Meteorological weather and its observation constitute an unbeatable framework for creating environments, but it is chronological time, focused on the transition to retirement, which drives action and mobilises the characters.

Víctor Gayà, who, in addition to being a writer, has also been a professional in meteorology and a psychologist, establishes in these stories an analogy between psychology and meteorology: both predictable, both finally surprising.

The different narrative voices shell their stories with also different tones, but always touched by the irony and conceptual play of the author.
