INFORMATION

This book is a way to recognize, celebrate and disseminate the work done by the Awajún Women's Program of the Cenepa River Nutrition and Health since 1998. This work began with the intention of seeking its own ways to try to respond to changes that disrupt the quality of life of Awajún families and that strongly affect women in communities affiliated to the Cenepa Border Community Development Organization (ODECOFROC).

This book is dedicated in particular to the women of the Awajún village in the communities of the Cenepa river, who have offered their knowledge and experience to share with their sisters.

The photos that illustrate this book are the work of photographer Rif Spahni, whom the Women's Program invited to work with young people from the Awajún communities of Cenepa in 2013 to provide them with a tool to reflect on their reality, culture and dreams for the future.
