“Visions sobre la festa” takes the melodic motive of the Menorcan popular song of “s’aigua-ròs”, also known as “es ball des còssil”. This tune is interpreted in some of Menorcan towns’ Fiesta Mayor, along with the rest of the party’s procession. That is, with the members of the popular parade (jaleo) and the highest religious and institutional exponents of the village in a solemn Mass devoted to its patron saint. Nowadays, the party has evolved, and the most solemn and institutional acts mix with the most bustling party. This mixture of formal acts, binge, and racket defines common thread of this work.

In the project, there are piano solos which represent the falling of riders during the jaleo. The combination of tradition and party is reflected by the trumpet, which interprets the popular song. The alto sax, with its melodic lines, along with the counter-bass, contrast and create a bustling atmosphere.

All in all, the project is a personal vision of the Menorcan celebrations, in which the listener can be swept along and submerge.
