La Trup
- (2012)
- Genre: Visual theatre , Theatre , Theatre of text
The company La Trup is a non-profit association. It was founded in 2012 by the team of artists who made Lucrecia o Roma libre, by Joan Ramis. This work was first premiered at the Institut del Teatre in July 2011. Then, in November 2012, it had its commercial premiere at the Teatre 17 de Gener in Ciutadella, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Institut Menorquí d'Estudis. The good understanding between the creators of that show led to new projects, and the possibility of involving other artists, both actors and actresses, as well as artists from the field of directing or scenography. This gave rise to Jordi Coca's project Antígona, a production that was also born as a stage direction practice, in this case by Montse González-Parera, in June 2013, and premiered commercially at the Ponent Theatre in Granollers in February 2014.
La Trup, despite the work that gave rise to its foundation, is not exclusively dedicated to classical theatre, nor does it focus solely on the production of shows. Theatre is a complex phenomenon, and any of the pillars that sustain it interest us: the role of theatre in the educational world, the creation of new audiences, the recovery of texts with heritage value or the experimentation with new forms of expression.
