Marcos Collado

Marcos Collado (guitar), Carlos Sánchez de Medina y Miguel  Benito (drums) are three baseline musicians in the world of contemporary jazz created in this country.

They collaborate regularly in a great number of projects and varied styles. This time they show the live music recorded in their CDs “Suite I” and “Suite II”, offering a neat concept of trio, with great originality and freshness, where the interaction, the energy and the experimentation converge in a balanced manner.

Established in Madrid, these three musicians are regulars in the city scene, collaborating with the most representative projects of styles such as blues, pop, jazz, latin and funk. Each of them has a vast list of musical collaborations, in which are included important jazz musicians such as Lou Marini, Bob Sands, Chris Kase, Henri Cole, etc. Apart from that, they have also played in jazz festivals such as Jazzaldia, the Jazz Festival in Madrid, and other festival of Europe, Central America, South America, USA, etc.

This trio has played the music of their CDs “Suite I” and “Suite II” in the festival Asejazz in Seville, in Centro Cultural Sa Congregació in Mallorca, the International Festival 2008 in Sa Pobla , Ciclo 1906 Jazz in Valencia, Ciclo de la Asociación Alamisa in Salamanca, in the concert hall of the conservatory of Burgos, Ciclo Raqueros del Jazz in Santander,  Ciclo Ahora Jazz de Extremadura, etc. Among all the places they have played, the most worth-highlighting are the concert hall of the conservatory of Burgos, Teatre Sans in Majorca and some of the most famous jazz concert halls, such as Bogui Jazz in Madrid, Jimmy Glass in Valencia and Haceria in Bilbao.

The concert the trio offers is conceived in the same way as their CDs, as a work concluded as a modern suite, which drinks equally from rock and jazz, and which develops in perfect harmony between interaction, energy and sound experimentation.
